Children & Pets.

So my cat has been very unwell lately with his back legs, we've had to get him pain relief needles. He had one yesterday, but later that night my daughter decided no where & out of the blue for no reason to kick him where his was sore. I didn't know if I should had to smack her or what? I didn't know why she did it or how to deal with it so now I'm stressing & googling all the advice I can get to teach my child how to be compassionate to animals. This is frustrating because I don't want my pet hurt nor do I want to make my child believe she's a horrible little girl. 😓
