So.. I didn't really listen when it came to people saying uni is terribly hard. Well guess what.. IT TOTALY IS. I'm studying law and social science a double degree and on top of that I have an autistic son who is 3 who needs my full time care. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed so I wanted to give some top tips to others about how to deal with stressful times! Here goes
1. When things get stressful, go outside and get some fresh air. Your baby can wait three minutes while you take a second to compose yourself.
2. Have a plan. I know it sounds cliche, but having a plan has helped me so much. I basically have a study plan and a making meals plan. Everyday is planned out beforehand.
3. Stick to the plan. Stick to it! Don't go on Facebook or stalk your favourite clothes online lol.
4. Don't give up! When things feel like they're too much- take some mummy free time! Get your eyebrows waxed, (or don't like me), get your nails done, invite that friend over for coffee and catch ups, have a play date! Do something to de stress! My number 1 rule!
5. Exercise ! - I do lots of yoga in my own home because I'm so busy. I schedule it between eating and studying haha.
6. The less caffeine the better! - yup so I live on caffeine until recently when I got told my heart is wayyyy too fast! So I had to cut down on the energy drinks and coffee. Only 2 per day now! (Before it was 5) I now get my energy hit from natural sources - like walnuts spinach and bananas :)
7. If you need help just ask someone close to you! ask your parents or grandparents for just an hour while you study or compose yourself with some Netflix haha or
8. Get the kids occupied. Read that constitutional law book to them. It's amazing how they don't care and you'll remember when your exam comes up and "oh yeah I read that to my son lol".
Well, that's it for now .😃😜
