First Blog Long Time Mommy

Heya Guys.

I have been with Karitane for about 3 year now, trying to think of what to say here. I say have experienced a lot in the last three year.
Falling pregnant 6 months after my 18th Birthday,  raising a baby at my mums house, than moving out trying to live as a family with my fiancĂ© for only 9 months than had to move back with my mums house.
Never went back to school but started part time before I was pregnant then when I came back from my maternity leave, my work gave me a full time position. Since than I have been trying to work as hard as I can.  I work in retail so the hours aren't good to me. I do have the workaholic personality to try my best  to juggle between family and work.
At the beginning when my daughter, Keiraleigh, was born, I was off work for 6 month. during those 6 months it was all caring for the baby, while my partner pretty much worked and went out. I wanted to go out with him as well but I felt like I was betraying my daughter by letting my mum looked after her and not me. Being at 19 all my friend were at UNI so It was difficult to hang out with them. So I pretty much stayed at home.
During that time I had a lady from Karitane come and see my every few week to see how I was going. As month went by that's when she introduced me to Rebecca from talking Realities.
It was sooooooo sooooo great to meet other mothers in the similar boat if not worst. I did feel quite awkward because in the group I was in, I was the youngest. But in the group my age didn't matter, what mattered was how much I was trying to be the best mom I could be. First child is very difficult. So many questions were asked. Still to this day I am asking the question non stop.
It was quite an adventure with Keiraleigh. During the past three years Keiraleigh has seen the children ward 3 times and had a minor surgery. To explain further so you are not thinking the worst her surgery was just grommet. She was deaf all the way till before she turned 3. Her speech is very delayed so we are undergoing speech therapy. in the 1month of speech she had improved sooo much. I can actually understand her better than her grunting all the time. The other illness was she was having feberal convulsions. That is when you have a seizer fit from a high temperature. The first 2 were alright but the last one she had on mother day 2012 ( the worst mothers day of my life) her fit lasted 22 minutes. At that age and that long could have done damage to her brain but she was so lucky she came through fine. Right now she is doing great.
now because of her speech we are now toilet training. When she is with grandma while me and my fiancé are working she does great, no accidents. But when she is home with mummy daddy accidents everywhere. What is grandma trick lol.
That's pretty much all I have now. This is part of my story. Many more to come like moving out for the first time which was awesome but it became to difficult we didn't think it through properly.

Bye for now.
