So I haven't blogged in a little while and thought why not now! I've had quite a few things happening recently in young parent town, from sewing precious little things that I am now selling and wedding plans, to tantrums and toilet training dramas!
So to begin with weddings are expensive and driving me mad money-wise but that's a whole new drama to get into and here is probably not the best place to vent! *heads over to twitter where there is a multitude of strangers reading my tweets without those close to me finding it!*
The main item on my agenda is the massive tantrum my daughter had in a stocklands shopping centre the other day! She was with my sister at the time and they had gone on a trek to find some sort of a milkshake for them to share, lo and behold my daughter wanted the ginger beer they had in their fridge rather than a freshly made milkshake so what did she do? Yep you guessed it threw a tantrum in the middle of the shopping centre. For those who have been to the wetherill park store you will know where cotton on and Priceline are located, and let me tell you my daughter was close to cotton on and I was in Priceline. I could hear her screaming from that far away. I handed the lady the items I wanted to buy and informed her that the screaming was my child and that I will be back.
Walking up to where she was my sister was trying the walk away technique which clearly was not working, I walked up with the sternest look on my face and told her to get up and come with me. Walked her briskly to Priceline and told her it was enough. And that there is no reason to be screaming like that in the shop, I instructed her to sit on the floor near the registers at Priceline and not to get up until I said so. She started whining and so I turned with a stern look and said nah uh! And briskly turned back to the shop attendant with the loveliest smile and said I'll take those items please. I love how I can go from scary and stern mum to pleasantly sweet and kind customer in the matter of seconds! I think I handled the situation well for my first shopping centre incident...
Apart from that craziness I have been sewing lately, I had a need to rid myself of some material and so I made my daughter and her closest friend at preschool a patchwork bunny each! They absolutely LOVE them! Her friends mother told me that she refuses to leave it at home and plays with it every single moment she gets! Which I absolutely love!! And the same can be said for my daughter it is absolutely lovely and I adore how close they've become!! I'll post a picture below this with an image of the bunnies I made! I am currently selling these gorgeous bunnies as well as teddies and possibly cats, dogs, elephants, giraffes and possibly owls once I make the pattern sheet up for them! I'll see if I can make a store on Facebook for those who want one soon!
So the other life lesson I am going through at the moment is toilet training I am hoping to have my little princess into the swing of it by my wedding!! I'm crossing my fingers!! So far she's taken herself mostly and has had a few accidents the first 2-3 days was accident upon accident but her preschool has informed me that she is more than ready for it! And she has only had two accidents at school! Which is great news!! I hope all goes well for me and her in the next few weeks who knows I might be writing another blog entry sooner than we think!!!
Anyways, I'm off to bed, I had a really late night last night and tomorrow being valentines day, and the birth of my brother that passed away I'm hoping to get an early night sleep to be feeling better than ever to tackle my day!
I hope everyone gets spoiled tomorrow!!
Lor.
